The Easter Bank Holiday weekend and the horrendous weather conditions put people off running this evening. However once we got going the rain and wind felt quite refreshing and certainly spurred a few on to run a little faster than normal! This was the last run on these routes and a chance to plough through the puddles along the lanes. However the biggest improvement of the night came on the other route as Amanda ran the 3mile distance without stopping for the first time and set herself a new Personal Best speed of 12m31s per mile a huge 30seconds per mile quicker than last week. Well done Amanda, firstly for braving the weather and secondly for self-motivating yourself to get round the course non-stop! Everyone else ran the 3.9m route this evening and we had some familiar faces back running with us this evening. A big welcome back to Alistair, he has been away for quite a while but put in a great performance this evening with an average of 9m 32s very respectable. Tori was also back after a few weeks away, she has been training hard for the London Marathon and it showed this evening with a great run just outside her personal best time on the toughest of routes. Out front was Mike this evening, he flew round the course in just 32m 52s a course record for this distance and was only just outside his Personal Best average as well. Well done Mike! He set the target pace for the rest and Nick did well to keep in eye contact for the majority of the run. This pulled Nick to his quickest ever run on this route with an average of just 8m 54s!
New routes next week and a chance for everyone to start at the same level, so if you are thinking of getting started with the running club or would like to come back next week is the ideal time to do so!!
