Running Club News 19/3/12

The final practise before the Eastleigh 10k this Sunday and a good turn out this evening as every runner attempted to beat their Personal Best on the final attempt on these routes.  Next week we start on our plan to get people round the Marwell 10k on the 20th May. There is still time to enter, click here – http://www.eastleighrunningclub.org.uk/marwell2.htm.  It is a bit hilly apparently but with 8 weeks to go there is plenty of time to train to get you all round the 10k circuit, no excuses! Get yourself booked in.

Back to this evening then and some very fast performances made this run very enjoyable. The biggest improvement was from Louisa, who took over a minute per mile off her personal best from last week. She is now running at a superfast pace of 10m 50s per mile, this is fantastic and a massive improvement from the 14min per miles she was running at just 4 weeks ago and perfect preparation for her to complete the Eastleigh 10k this Sunday, good luck Louisa. Paul N completed only his 4th ever run this evening going round the 4.1m circuit non-stop in a personal best average of 9m 11s, well done Paul!! You need to book that place on the Marwell 10k now!!

Only Claires 3rd run with us and already she has taken over 2minutes per mile off her time. She is now a speedy 10m 16s per mile and getting faster each week, another contender for the Marwell Run!! Pam had an amazing run this evening, she definitely had her weetabix this morning as she tore 2 mins per mile off her time from last week and set herself a New Personal Best of just 11m 32s per mile, well done Pam. Not to be outdone by her Mum, Morgan also set a new record last night with a 9m 52s lap, the fastest she has ever run, and she wasn’t even out of breath at the end!

Fastest person on the night was Harry, he choose to do the shorter route this evening as he has a rugby tournament tomorrow, but he didn’t take it too easy clocking his fastest ever time of just 8m 14s per mile, pop that in your Duke of Edinburgh file Harry, well done and good luck in the rugby!! Amanda had another great run this evening, her pumping music pushed her round to her fastest ever average of 13m 10s per mile, a great finish to the run as well Amanda, well done!

There were also a few people just outside PBs, Well done to Fiona who was just 3seconds per mile outside of her record and Sandy who kept Ann and Pete behind him tonight and recorded a time just 19s per mile outside his PB! Again good preperation before his 10k run on Sunday!!

Good luck to all those running on Sunday, let me know how you get on!
