Running Club News 6/8/18

Friday August 3rd

Today’s running club was taken over with a New York Marathon Preparation run. A 10 mile challenging route was devised and 3 runners set off. The route was made more challenging with the incredibly hot weather, but apart from a quick water stop (allowed with the conditions) the three runners made it round in style. The pace of 10m57s per mile was perfect in the planning and preparation for the marathon. Well done to Katie and Sarah on joining me on completing the run. You can follow our story as we prepare for the New York Marathon on our dedicated blog – http://alsnyc.blogspot.com/?m=1

Monday August 6th

It was great to see Nina and Carl back this evening for their first run in a month. They haven’t been loafing though, Nina completed a triathlon at the weekend, and Carl completed a burger and chips last week! After her triathlon adventure, Nina wisely opted for the shorter route and completed the 3.6miles in a great time. The rest of the team decided that we would help pace set with Nick in preparation for the New York Marathon. We need to get down to 11mins per mile, and agreed 10mins would be good for tonight. Charles was perfect, setting the steady consistent 10mins per mile pace for everyone to follow. Unfortunately everyone was in-front of Charles and so didn’t stick to the plan. There were some good times though, Sarah took 2mins 30seconds of her time from last week, and she was matched by Carl who impressed on his first run back.

I hope you like the new venue for the running club blog by the way. Feedback on the new site will be gratefully received.

New routes next week team.
