Running Club News 8/8/11

A big well done to all that attended tonights Running Club in Warsash. We held the first session focused on developing speed and different energy systems this evening. These sessions will educate those who attend on how to develop their ADP-TP, Aerobic and lactic Acid energy systems. This will allow the runners to run further and faster, a theory we will attempt to prove next week when the runners return to last weeks route to beat their previous times. The feedback on the session has been very positive, as the group stay together and so it becomes more social, a little more competitive and lots of fun!

This evening we focused on mobilising the major joints to start followed by fartlek training. This was followed by sprint training in a handicap race that gave everyone a chance to win! Finally we split the runners in to two teams and held a “Out and Back” competition which worked both Speed and Stamina! As an addition, we worked heavily on flexibility undertaking a good developmental stretching session at the end that hopefully will encourage those who attended to stretch properly after each future running session. Thank you for those of have fedback already, please feel free to let me know your thoughts on tonights session by email on Mark@nltraining.co.uk. You can see the next time we are holding this type of session at  http://nltraining.co.uk/great-south-run-preperation-schedule.

Next week we are back with the normal routine.
