Friday 1st July
A big thank you once again to Sharon who stepped in to look after Fridays running club this week, here is how she saw your run –
“I decided not to run today as knees were a little sore due to too much up and down a ladder cutting a hedge!! I arrived at run club to be greeted by a possible new member named Louise from Hedge End. She has run before, having completed a 10K previously but not for sometime, so was keen to start as a beginner. Angela arrived and the two of them got on really well and Angela invited her to join her so the both of them decided they wanted to do the 2.7 mile route as per the previous week.
Greg was not feeling too great and says that maybe he is doing too much, but still had a great run. Gemma arrived with Chester who was raring to go round the revised route that Gemma had planned meaning she did not have to do all the curbs around Upper Brook Drive. She found the run hot, hilly and horrid! She still did a good time though.”
Angela 2.73 miles 33:58 12:27
Louise 2.73 miles 33.58 12:27
Greg 5.40 miles 56:02 10:23
Gemma 5.40 miles 52:36 09:44
Well done all, Sharon will be looking after you again this Friday as you complete this route for the last time. Good Luck
Monday 4th July
We had a few new runners at this evenings running club and one very special guest runner – Albe! Albe the Labrador, came along with owner, Jo, for their first run with the club. Both owner and dog performed fantastically, completing the 1.3mile route non-stop, the furthest the 17month old has ever achieved!! It was also very motivational for Nadine, who ran with Jo & Albe and completed her run non-stop, her furthest ever non-stop run!! Well done Nadine, fantastic!! Also running for the first time with the Monday club was Louise, she came along to the Friday club and Sharon looked after her so well she decided to come back for more today. Sharon even ran with her this evening and set a good pace too and Louise improved on Fridays average by 6seconds per mile, well done and welcome Louise.
Nick was back running with us this evening and I pleased to say his run was very non-eventful, he completed the route injury free and able to run another day! Well done Nick. Also running with 3.4mile route was Rose. She has been busy exercising this week and has already hit 972 MEPs this month (for those who don’t know what a MEP is, it means she has exercised an awful lot this month already – check out http://www.nltraining.co.uk/myzone/ for more details), so she could be forgiven for being just 38 seconds slower than last week!
Jo was also back this evening, and opted to go for the long distance of 5.8miles with the boys; Carl, Leyon and Greg. They really put her through her paces and with Leyon and Carl’s sprint finish they pipped her along Brook Lane. It was a great run by all 4 of them however on a long route.
It was also a first time run with the club for Tina, she has been training hard at the Enjoy classes and with a 1-2-1 running coach and it shows. A great level of fitness and alongside Charlie, they tore up the 4.1mile route to average under 11mins per mile, very impressive!!!

Friday 24th June
A quick catch up on a missing Runners Blog!! Friday 24th and a good turn out! Charlie attended her first Friday club after excelling at the Mondays sessions. She had a great run, learning all about gait, running down hill and sprinting up Heath Road North for the first time. Great Run Charlie. Chester enjoyed himself today, although the curbs in Upper Brook Drive kept him awake and his mum, Gemma, working hard! He looked very cool at the finish with his arm out the side of his mean machine! Angela decided she is definitely a morning runner, having knocked nearly a minute off her Monday night average speed. I think Greg maybe a morning person too. Joanne had a great run today, her fastest since December! Well done Joanne, shows it is working! Well done also to Sharon who had a quick run too and back in time for her final appearance at puddleducks!!
