Running Club News 28/1/13

The last two weeks have seen some horrendous weather in the area but the Warsash Running Club has continued throughout. Last week only 5 people turned up in the snow and ice, however all completed exceptional runs. Rhys and Jack set course records as they flew round the tricky 4mile route in around 33mins. The following week the snow may have dissappeared but the rain and wind was in force. The new route for the next three weeks encompasses some hills in preperation for the next 10k challenge at Marwell. The wind was assisting up the hills, pushing a good pace at the beginning of the course, however the trek back downhill was hindered somewhat by the strong headwind. The rain also played havoc with the timing device so todays times are not 100% accurate. The weather did not stop Jack and Ryan flying round the course, both completing the course in personal best times of 7m 14s per mile. Kyle and Mark also put in a quick 4 miles averaging less than 8mins per mile! It was good to see Sandy back in the running mode and he had a great run round the route, just behind Pete. Ali and Charles undertook the shorter 3.1mile route and completed it well, with a great sprint finish. Well done to all the runners for braving the conditions over the last two weeks. Same route next week and hopefully some better weather!
