Running Club News 28/11/11

Apologies for missing last nights session, contrary to popular belief I am not a “Fair Weather” runner and it wasn’t the rain that put me off. Well done to all those runners who did turn up in the horizontal rain last night for the run. A last minute change of plan meant the Sprinting and Energy Systems training session was postponed and a another chance for people to beat their times on the 4.3miles and 3.10mile routes was introduced. The horrendous conditions obviously slowed people down slightly with only a few people achieving improved times. Pete beat his Personal Best, with rumours circulating that he dodged every raindrop on the way round as well…..he is that fast!! A Great time Pete, averaging under 8mins per mile!

Mel F also completed her fastest lap, taking 3 seconds off last weeks time in tougher conditions, well done Mel! Kelly and Liam had good runs as well as Pete B, first run back for a few weeks, completed his run in his fastest ever NLT time of less than 11mins per mile, fantastic and a sign of great improvement Pete.

A big thank you to Bruce who stepped in at the last minute to help out this evening and to all the runners who braved the tough conditions.

Next week We will split in to two groups with 1 group undertaking the sprint training originally planned for the last night, the second group will have the opportunity to complete this course for the last time and gain a PB! The choice will be yours!

Many thanks
