Today was the start for the preparation for the 2014 Great South Run. Just a day after the big event for this year we already have one eye on next years run. Two of tonight’s runners made firm commitments to run their first GSR next year and started their training in earnest tonight. And they did it in some style too! Miles took over 4minutes off his time last week running the same course! He even had some energy spare at the end, blamed on the 2 weetabix he had, he showed his fitness levels are massively improved.
Returning from his holiday, Charles also committed to next years main event and put in a great 4.8mile run this evening to prove he is already ready!! His sub-10min per mile would have had him finishing at about 1h40m yesterday!! A great target for next year already! Also running this evening was Mike, carrying a little injury he wasn’t quite as quick as last week on the 6mile route but still set off like an exocet missle!!
Many runners had the evening off this evening having run 10miles flat out yesterday at the Great South Run. You can check out how they all got on at Great South Run Results 2013
Next week we have new routes and a new target. The next planned run at the moment is the Stubbington 10k – 19th January 2014. You can enroll now at http://www.sgrac.net/html/sgrac-10k.html. Let me know if you register so I have an idea of who is doing it!
