A very wet and windy run this evening in our final warm up route before the Great South Run on Sunday! The weather didn’t put people off though with many trying out there new trainers, tops and running gear for the first time this evening. It has to be said that some of the tops should have been sold with a pair of sunglasses for avoid blindness, but at least you get seen on the dark nights! The conditions slowed people down understandably this evening, plus many were taking it as an easy run before the Great South. There were some outstanding performances however – Liam took over 2 minutes of last weeks time, with an average speed of under 9mins per mile, a personal record for Liam – Well Done!!! Mike, pushed along by Becca (or was it the other way round??) also achieved his fastest time for a while with just over 9mins per mile on the long 5.3mile circuit – a quick time next Sunday is expected from both of these!! Elsewhere Kelly improved again!!! taking a minute of last weeks time, next run Kelly, you need to get back under that 10min per mile speed!!! Well done also to Pete B who came on his first run with the club this evening and put in a great time averaging 11m 22s per mile, well done Pete and Welcome!
Well done to all the runners this evening! Next week will be a light run, with emphasis on mobilisation and stretching for those who did the Great South Run. There will be some speed work as well for those not doing the GSR!
