Friday January 20th
A last minute accident prevented me from running with the club on Friday. So Joanne, Lisa and Greg set off on their own. With no one to motivate her Lisa did exceptionally well, pushing herself to a new personal best speed of just 9m 38s per mile, shaving 4 seconds per mile off her previous best. I am not sure how Joanne finished but she was looking in good form before she started! Greg had a slight detour ( no surprises there) and ran 5miles in just 51minutes! Well done guys, sorry to let you down at the last minute, see you this Friday!
Monday January 23rd
It was an extremely foggy evening. But not as cold as expected so it was declared safe to run. After last weeks recording breaking performance from Alex, I decided, along with Brooke, to run with him to gleam some tips on how to run fast. Alex said he ran the Lee-on-Solent Park Run on Saturday. I said wow, that’s not much training just a couple of miles, Alex “No, I ran to the Park run!”. Ah, I understand now!! Just 6miles there, a quick 18minute Park Run and 6 miles back, no problem!! Brooke and I ran with him and felt we were tiring him out, then Alex put on a sprint for the last mile, I was going to keep up but my shoelace came undone, really unfortunate timing!
It was great to see Pete back at the running club this evening. He has decided to start working off Christmas, not bad really seeing as January is nearly over. He was pleased to be back though and I am sure we will see a bit more of him in the coming weeks. Pete ran with Carl who put in a good time of 9m 22s per mile. Maddie had been spotted doing some extra running in during the week, which is helping her consistency at the moment, running alongside Charles this evening she nearly matched her last weeks time.
