A nice cooling breeze greeted the runners this evening. It was very welcome after 2 hot days. Bruce was in charge this evening and introduced the runners to the route. No one got lost, in fact it was Sat Nav who led the runners round finishing with a fantastic average 8m 44s per mile, a new PB for Mike! Well done! Awesome!! This was made even more special as he started near the back, running fast to catch up Bruce and Pete before accelerating away over the last mile to claim first place. Bruce and Pete were close behind finishing the route in an average of 9m21s. Mike’s pace setting must have pulled his daughter along, especially at the beginning, as Maggie also achieved her PB this evening. She finished alongside Jodi and Greg with averages of just 9m 50s, this was Maggie’s first sub-10min per mile run! Well done Maggie, and well done to Jodi and Greg for keeping up with her!
Finishing just behind Mike this evening was Alistair, his 3rd consecutive run under 9 mins per mile average but still just short of his PB, I am sure you will do it on this route in the next 2 weeks Alistair! He was pushed at the end by Paul. On just his 2nd run back Paul finished just 50seconds behind Alistair, and 17s per mile faster than last weeks run. Good progress already! Nick was also back for his 2nd run in a row and another sound performance showed he is back!
