It was an all Gentleman affair this evening at the Warsash Running Club. The cold air and fast approaching Xmas festivities obviously discouraged many of the ladies from coming out tonight! With an all male field it was clear there was some pride at stake and the boys pushed each other to the limits this evening. The route, the same as last week, was made trickier with a strong cold icy wind blowing in their faces on the downhill stretch. But when there is male pride at stake a small gust of wind is not enough to get in the way. Three people achieved Personal best speeds this evening as they all set off like Gazelles! Kyle and Jack led from the front completing the 4 mile circuit in a record average of just 7m 10s per mile!! We have not had an average like that since a 7m30s average back in September! For Jack this was definitely a PB and a huge improvement from the average of 10m18s on 28th September this year! Well done!!! Also with a PB was Frasier, he achieved a sub 8min mile average for the first time on a Monday night, although he was in a group of 3 that went slightly of the route, the judges deemed the distance of 3.6miles valid and the PB stands!!
Well done also to Rhys, at just 13 he kept up with Frasier and Pete for the race and was not far from beating his PB. Well done to Nick who took a whole minute off his time from last week, he is certainly recovering back to his usual best now. Well done also to Charles and Paul who put everything they had in to the evenings run.
No running club now for a couple of weeks due to Christmas. The next run will be on January 7th as we start to prepare for the Stubbington 10k!
