Running Club News 14/11/16

A big thank you to Charles who stepped in at the last minute to set up the run and cover for me last night. Many thanks Charles. I can also give him all the credit for the Blog today too, here goes –

MONDAY 14th November

Gareth & Alex 5.6 miles 43:30
Alex came back fresh as a daisy with Gareth a healthy glow. Although Gareth is doing Gosport Half at the weekend so was ‘holding a bit back’ for the weekend.

Gemma and Louise 5.6 49:16
Both doing the Gosport half, so good time tonight looking awesome in the zebra pink leggings and ‘sleeves’.

Pete and Maddie 3.5miles 36 mins
Pete was feeling stiff and was happy to run a shorter distance in case the legs gave up. After a couple of miles, they increased the pace and disappeared into the night

Charles and Lydia 3.5 miles 39:12
Both having over indulged in the delights of New Lucky house at the weekend, an initial slow pace was increased at the top of Heath Road North, as we turned back for the downhill stretch down Brook Lane.

Not sure, but we think it was a couple of minutes faster than last week ?

FRIDAY 11th November

A big thank you Greg for this weeks Blog –

Friday 11th Nov: Lisa, myself and Mark set off for the 6 mile run, or at least Lisa was not sure at the start thinking 4.3 may be the best option, but with some fast talking (really) from Mark at the turning point decided to join us on the arduous 6 mile route. Lisa being a teacher at Locks Heath junior rang the bell outside the school the response to which was many waves from the playground (fame at last)! With much breath wasted talking (social run) we reached around the two mile mark and the old mans (yours truly) knee said “I am not too sure about this”, but I decided to continue at a steady competitive pace! Oh and guess what Lisa slipped behind a bit and took a short cut through the shopping centre car park (aided by a convenient shopping trolley) and caught up with the lead runners! Mark was getting bored (?) and half way down Lockswood road decided to show us what real running was about (he wanted to blow away his cold) and Lisa had illegally passed the front runners! The old man decided caution was the best option and took a short route to the end (excuses). I was greeted at the club by first a sweating Mark and then a perspiring Lisa both joyful for completing 6 miles (allegedly) PS. who cares about times !
