Tonight was the 1st anniversary of the Warsash Running Club by New Life Training! The first group ran on 14th March 2011 and we had 5 people run a 3 mile circuit. From those original 5 runners we had just Mike running with us this evening. That’s not to say the original 5 have been put off for life, they are all still very active with NLT, whether it is Personal Training, Bootcamps or now delivering New Life Weight Loss Groups they are all still very active! Mikes first run with us saw him average 14mins per mile, tonight he flew round in an average of just 8m55s. That’s a great improvement Mike, well done!!
It was a very pleasant evening to be having a birthday and with 21 runners attending this evenings session it was popular as well. There were some brilliant performances as people set out to improve on their times on the second week of these routes. The biggest improvement on the night was from Claire, in only her second run with the group she took off 1m 48s per mile, awesome Claire, well done!! We nearly had a club record broken this evening with the fastest ever average time, Pete currently holds the fastest average of 7m29s and without Pete around this evening Kyle took on the challenge, just missing out with a 7m 35s average. There may be a new challenger though with his first run in the group this evening, Will had a very quick 8m 24s average, and could well be challenging very soon. Finishing just slightly behind Will was Liam, who completed his quickest ever run with the club in an average of 8m28s. His fiancee, Fiona, also having a great run taking almost a minute of last weeks time.
Amanda came back from a week away to complete her third run with the club and she did it in a record time averaging 13m26s per mile. 24 seconds per mile quicker than her previous best. Well done also to Paul N, his second run with the club this evening and already showing great improvement with a new PB of 9m23s, the same improvement next week will see him less than 9mins per mile average.
Finally, a quick mention to Tori, she did tell me that she is completing a 14mile run tomorrow, but I forgot and pushed her all the way round the 5.1m course to her personal best average of 9m 17s. Well done Tori, the training for the London Marathon is clearly going very well, keep it up!
Well done to all the runners on completing the circuits tonight, i am aware that for some this was the furthest they have ever run non-stop! So well done. Same routes next week.
