Running Club News 10/12

As Christmas approaches and the weather becomes less favourable so people find it harder to step outside the front door let alone run! So a massive well done to those people who have made the effort to attend the Warsash Running Club over the last few weeks. Your dedication and commitment has worked well as many of you have improved hugely with new Personal Bests in times and distances.
Over the past 3 weeks we have had a few new recruits – Rhys is just 12 and he flew round the circuit only his second session (once he knew the route) to a fantastic average speed of just 7m21s per mile! One of the quickest ever averages. Awesome!
We also welcomed Adrian last night who ran in the group for the 4mile circuit, he completed a great time, but I have a feeling he will fly round next time now he knows the circuit!
We have also had a few people return to the running club following short breaks. The breaks have seemed to do them good. Frasier and Naomi returned to the group following their honeymoon. I’m not sure what went on out there but they have both got significantly quicker with average speeds of 8mins per mile (Frasier) and 10m11s per mile (Naomi). Jack also had a week off and came back refreshed to put in one of the best performances seen at the running club. He achieved a fantastic average of just 7m29s per mile on a 4.9mile route! Well done Jack. He seems to just be getting faster and faster every week!
We then have the dedicated few who have hardly missed a session recently and it has paid off. Christine (Pip) has shown fantastic improvements over the last few weeks. She has taken off over 30seconds per mile over the last 3 weeks to a very respectable speed now of 9m32s per mile. Charles has his “Tough Mudder!” competition to motivate him and it seems to be doing the trick as he has increased his distance significantly and now his times. Definitely the most improved, Charles has taken nearly a minute per mile off his average time over the past 4 weeks.
Well done to all the runners who have braved the cold in recent weeks. You can see the average times and speeds below for the last 3 weeks.
