Running Club 2/5/11

The New Life Training Running Club had its busiest evening yet this Bank Holiday Monday. This week the team started their 3 week program with a cross-country challenge. The same 3.9m route was followed by the majority of the runners in both the beginners and the advanced group. It was a tough circuit with many hills and the gravel lane which worked some tired calves very hard! So a massive well done to all! In particular, well done to Bruce, in the Advance group, who smashed his personal best speed on the tough route, averaging just 8minutes 15secs per mile!! Awesome! Well done also to James, who finished joint first in the beginners group in his first run with us, a great speed James – 10m28s per mile! We also had 75% of the Smith family running, all of whom did fantastic, with 11 year old Dan completing the 3.4mile circuit first at a fast average of 12mins per mile. Jo was back and felt the challenge after missing a week, she still completed the run in a great time closely followed by Sharon and Mandy all with great times for this circuit. Well done to all the others who were there this week, times and speeds can be found below. Same course next week guys and and opportunity to improve on those speeds! Well done to one and all.
