We managed to start dry today missing the torrential showers for most of the run. However the heavens opened on the way back in and flooded much of the route. No detours but a lot of wet socks!!
It was great to see some familiar faces today. A big welcome back to Aileen. She has not run with the club for over 18 months but has just started running again herself. She had a great run today, opting for the longer 4.1mile route she ran with Sue and the pair of them dogged the puddles and lakes to finish with an average of 10m37s! Fantastic ladies!
Also new to the Friday run was Sue V, she ran with the Monday club a few weeks ago and opted to go for a fast short route today. It was a good choice too as she pretty much escaped the downpour. We could see it coming and I think that pushed her to a PB performance of 8m 11s per mile, a massive 37seconds per mile average quicker than her last run!! Well done Sue!
Jane ran her second run with the club today and the comfort of a familiar route paid dividends as she excelled, smashing her PB from last week. She ran with Jo F and the pair of them finished with an very fast average of 10m 30s per mile. This was nearly 2minutes per mile quicker than last week for Jane and only just 9seconds per mile outside of Jo’s PB! Great run ladies!! Awesome!
We are going to do the same route again next week for the final time, so a chance for some PBs and hopefully some drier weather!
